holidays

this year we spent thanksgiving at my families house. we had a wonderful day with LOTS of yummy food! i love this day! i am very thankful.

at 4 am friday brady and i went to provo to shop with all the crazy black friday people. the lines were amazingly long but we had a good time and got everything we wanted.

later that afternoon we went and cut down our christmas tree. i grew up with fake trees so i really enjoy hiking in the snow and picking out my own tree. it was really funny to decorate this tree because it is so skinny that we had to put all the lights and ornaments near the center or else the branches would sag and everything would fall off! we had a good laugh. looks a little charlie brown dont you think?

nitro circus

last night we went to salt lake for the the premier of travis pastranas new nitro circus movie, thrillbillies 2: doublewide. brady loves travis pastrana and his movies are awesome! we are excited to add this one to our collection. and to top it all off travis pastrana himself was there! and all the crazy cast from the movie. we didnt wait in line to meet him but i got these pictures with my phone. it was a good time.

private

wallsburg

sunday was kellys baby blessing and everyone was up in heber so saturday we all went to wallsburg to hang out. its always fun to be out there. it really is so beautiful and relaxing. while we were there we hung out, rode around on 4 wheelers, shot guns, took pictures and of course, ate lots of yummy food! there were tons of dogs there too! tracey and dave were out of town so val and kathy had their 2 dogs, we took our 2, duff and amy had thier new dog and then throughout the day there were 3 or 4 other dogs in and out. there was also a cat that hung around the whole day and drove trip crazy! its a miracle its still alive.

JOYS
1. my dogs. everyone that knows me knows how much i love dogs. and i love my dogs trip and boon. they are always so happy to see me in the mornings and after work. they are also very protective of me which makes me feel really good.
2. a clean house. i am a bit of a neat freak and theres nothing that makes me happier than a freshly cleaned house! i feel like i can totally relax when my house is neat and orderly. and i love to relax.
3.hunting. this year brady did the bow hunt and i have been able to go out with him multiple times. even though we didnt get anything it has truly been joyful! we have been able to spend alot of time together camping, hiking and sitting in the trees and i have loved every minute of it!

FEARS
1.mountain lions. amid all the joys of hunting i have a terrible fear of mountain lions. i have heard too many stories of mountain lions stalking and attacking people that i have terrified myself. i cant imagine how horrible it would be to be overpowered by such a vicious animal.
2.strangers. anything to do with strangers. strangers in my house. strangers in my car. me alone with a stranger. not just any stranger though. im not afraid of people i dont know. just strangers that give me a reason to be afraid.
3.speed. i really dont like going fast when im supposed to be in control. when i go too fast on anything i usually lose control and get hurt. ie: 4 wheelers, long boards, cars....you get the idea. im not good at controlling fast things and it scares me.

GOALS
1.to live within my means. i have to agree with amy on this one. it is so easy to get whatever we want with all the easily obtained credit but i really dont want to want to buy if i cant afford it. i believe we will be much happier if we can all do this.
2.potty in the corner. due to my obsession with keeping a neat and green lawn (you will read about later), i have set a goal to train my dogs to "go potty" in the far corner of the yard. i have read lots about it online and it is possible. with lots of patience and consistency i will have a beautiful green lawn again next summer!
3.to eat healthy. i have the continuing goal of eating well. i grew up in a very healthy house and learned some valuable things about nutrition. i truly believe that how we feel has alot to do with what we eat and i personally can tell a huge difference when i eat well.

OBSESSIONS
1.my back yard. this is a very strange obesession but with my 2 large dogs my back yard suffers and i have become obsessed with watering the spots that are dying from the urin. brady told me my constant watering is killing the lawn even more. he might be right.
2.ksl classifieds. i look at these classifieds all the time. whether im looking to buy something or not i am constantly looking for a good deal. i love the classifieds!
3.cheese and crackers. strange i know but lately i have been eating tons of cheese and crackers. i love to cut thick slices of cheese and eat it on a ritz cracker with a thin slice of turkey lunch meat. i will honestly eat it for lunch 3 days a week.

RANDOM
1.until right before i got married i hated to read. i hadnt ever even finished an entire book, nor had i read anything by choice. i absolutely hated to read. then something miraculous happened and now i love it! i am consistently reading a book and i have a huge list to read waiting for me.
2.i secretly love to play guitar hero. i didnt grow up playing any kind of nintendo and im not very good at any of these gaming systems, but for some reason i have a small obsession with guitar hero. i borrowed the game from my sister and played it almost all day sunday and by tuesday i had passed the whole game (on medium level, im not that good)! i am now a rock legend!
3.i have had the same cell phone for 3 years. its amazing with all the drops that it is still alive. and it actually looks really good. we had to replace the battery earlier this year because it wouldnt hold a charge anymore but now its great. i usually like to use things till they wear out but i think ill be getting a new phone this winter. its time.

BOON

weve done it again! we got another puppy! ever since we had to get rid of Diesel i have had an obsession with looking for another mastiff. right after we got rid of Diesel i rebounded and bought kaia but quickly learned that boxers are not our type of dog so we didnt keep her very long. the hunt for the next mastiff continued. and we have found him. him name is boon. we got him 2 weeks ago and he is now 3 months old. we weighed him when we got him and he was 30 lbs so were well on our way to another large mastiff! (he is the great great grandson of the beast off the movie sandlot) i swore i wouldnt get another dog till we got a bigger house/yard but i just couldnt resist! hes a really good dog and extremely mellow which we love and trip loves having another buddy.

weekend with behlie

last month jen and jacob went away for their anniversary and i got to spend a couple days with behlie. it was alot of fun to have a little girl to play with. she is so easy going and never cries. she slept all night without a peep and is so pleasant and fun to be with. i could only hope that my kids are as good as she is. i love this little girl!

inspiring

today started out wrong for me and ive been a little down and kind of dwelling on some things in my head (because i have alot of time to sit and think at work) that have been going wrong and have been frustrating me. this afternoon i clicked on a link through tracie's blog (http://www.nieniedialogues.blogspot.com) that led me to another blog (http://blog.cjanerun.com) that i have been reading all day and it has truly changed my whole mind frame. ive been just kind of reflecting all day on the things i was dwelling on and they dont really seem that big of a deal anymore. it has really made me put my "problems" into perspective. it made me want to be more organized and more prepared for whatever might happen and also to be more selfless and optimistic. im really glad people share their stories.

back to school

brady and i went back to school this semester! well kindof.... i only have math 1050 to finally get my associates and brady only has a one credit library class to get his. i dont really like school so im not that excited to go but i am excited to be done with it. and math does happen to be one of my favorite subjects so it wont be too bad. bradys class is online through dixie state and i talked him into finishing it because i told him i would take it for him since i have so much online time at work, but unfortunately he has to take the final somewhere supervised so he will have to take the class himself in order to pass the final. :0)

Who proposed: he did of course. he took me snowmobiling up to tower mountain and while we were heating up our hands on the engine he asked if he could get a "snack" out of the backpack i was wearing. well the "snack" turned out to be a ring and he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. i had no idea he was going to ask me that night cause we had casually talked about getting married but hadnt looked at rings or anything. the funny thing is it was so cold i didnt want to take my gloves off so i didnt put the ring on till we got back to the truck. it was perfect!

Who has more friends: he does. funny how when you get married your friends no longer exist but become all your husbands friends wives! haha im just lucky i like all his friends wives, i consider them all my good friends.

fair days

last week was fair days here in heber city. this is one of my favorite times of year! there was something going on every night and i only had to cook dinner once all week! it was wonderful! throughout the week we went to the hot dog dinner in the park and the grand opening of the new skate park and also to the dutch oven cookoff which was great. we went to the fair and walked around the booths but we didnt ride any rides this time. last year i went on the gravitron which was pretty fun but after that dutch oven dinner it wasnt looking too good. saturday we went to the parade and then to the rodeo. this is my favorite part of fair days! i love rodeos! for the past three years brady has done the hide race but due to the lack of a horse he didnt get to do it this year. we had a great fair days week!

bear lake

over the weekend of the 24th we went to bear lake with the whole draper family. it has been lots of years since i have been there and it was a blast! we spent most of the time at the lake on the boat and enjoying the sun and the sand. we had two wave runners one day and a water weenie the other day. ill admit i am a baby and i always get so scared to get out on the weenie but it was actually pretty fun! we had great food all weekend and lots of raspberry shakes. we also had a talent show where everyone was required to do something. well i didnt really have any talents to share so i was going to bring a painting and drawing that i did but i forgot them. i will post pictures of them soon so everyone can see my talent! :0)

boats

this summer so far has been a summer of boats. duff got a new boat and has taken us out to deer creek a bunch. also our friends, the bonners, have a boat and have been taking us out as well. its so much fun to live here in heber so close to the mountains and lakes. there is always something to do and im glad we have family and friends with toys so we can enjoy this beautiful valley!

out with the old...

...in with the new! after 6 great years the time has finally come to say goodbye to the altima. it was a great car and is still in great shape but i was ready for a change. about 3 weeks ago i got this mazda3 and i love it!

4th of july

the 4th of july is one of my favorite holidays! i went to the parade in provo with my family then to the booths for some shopping and the classic navajo taco. brady went to the lake with his family while i was in provo then that night we went to the stadium of fire with drapers.

lake powell

its been forever since i updated my blog! i know i have been a slacker. the lack of internet connection at my house makes it alot harder to stay caught up. but we have had an enjoyable summer so far and i will hit the highlights. the best highlight of every summer is lake powell and the first weekend in june we went. and like always it was beautiful! it truly is a wonderful place to relax and i enjoy it every time. but this time was a little different. i had something horrible and spent the majority of my time in the bathroom and on the couch. i think its the first time ive come back from a powell trip actually losing weight! i usually gain a few with all the snacks! i still had a great time and cant wait to go again!

memorial day

for memorial day my family went out across utah lake to ride 4 wheelers and shoot guns. it had rained all morning so it was kindof muddy and it was a little windy but we still had alot of fun! cade and cami loved their little 4 wheelers and mom and dad even rode for a while. brady took cami and i on a wild ride and she loved it so much, she kept saying woohoo until he hit a big jump and she hit her chin on my arm coming down. but she still wanted to ride after that, she would cry if you would go without her. i hope my kids love riding like shes does!

new lawn!

im sure all of you remember our beloved 170lb diesel who destroyed our lawn last year. well after half the summer and only half the lawn left we decided to till it up and put in a new one. the other day i looked outside and trip had taken his blanket out to lay on! i guess he was trying to give us the hint that he didnt like not having a lawn. ha ha well good for him, brady and i layed new sod last week and it is nice to once again have a pretty back yard! (dont mind the picture of trip through the dog nose smudged window)

OFF TO THE RACES

brady finally got his new bike! he sold his bikes to buy my wedding ring and after 2 years of trying to convince me to trade in my ring for a new bike he got the hint and just bought one. last weekend he had a race in delta. it was nice out but super windy so they ended the races after the first round. we had alot of fun though and i look forward to going to the next one!
